Helping Dad
My brother, Micah Green, and my mom work to suck out fluid building up in my dad's respiratory system and making it difficult for him to breath at their home in Woods Cross, Utah on Feb. 13, 2023. The fluid building up made breathing difficult for my dad and he was unable to dislodge it himself. My mom used an oxygen tube to suck out the fluid from my dad while my brother moved the tube in dad's throat. The noise the fluid made created the sound commonly known as a "death rattle." This was after my dad able to watch the Utah Jazz play, and win, on TV. This day created a false hope as dad was doing better in the morning and afternoon and left me feeling like maybe he'd have a couple weeks to a month more to live.
