Stars and the Milky Way are seen over Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah on Dec. 7, 2021. Bryce Canyon was declared a national monument by U.S. President Warren G. Harding on June 8, 1923. It officially became a national park on Feb. 25, 1928. The 35,835 acre park had a record number of visitors with 2,679,478 people in 2018, according to the National Park Service. The park also offers opportunities for stargazing, with âBryce Canyon's high elevation, clean air, and remote location creates some of the darkest skies in the country,â according the NPS.
